Oh you know, just the usual gushing over photos of my baby... while she’s asleep in my arms. Perfectly normal mom behavior 🤣💕. Don’t lie... you do it, too! . I'm doubting whether the word 'balance' applies to the Mom of 3 / Business Owner life 😂. . It's more like a juggling act, where there's at least one ball that hits the ground. . Yesterday the 'dropped ball' was the 3-year old's show & tell item (oops). . More on a day in the life of a Digital Doula (yesterday)... . 5:23am - wake up. Kinda sleeping in for me. Coffee. . 6am - start getting all of the kids ready for the day. . 7am - exercise in my bedroom. . 8:30am - take the girls to school. . 9am - back home to work on a presentation. . 10am - live training in Doulas Going Digital (private group - link in bio). . 11am - call with a potential new member of the Njoy team. . 12pm - pickup the girls from school. . 12:30 - call with another potential member of the Njoy team. . 1pm - Business strategy call with a Doula... she's an amazing mama of 3, with some exciting stuff to bring to mamas! . 2pm - continue working on presentation. . 3:30 - girls are up from nap. . Mommin' mommin' mommin'. . 5pm - my son is home from school & tennis. Dinner. . 6:20pm - start bath / bedtime routine. . 8pm - all the kids are sound asleep. . The complexity that is motherhood (Bey gets it). It cracks you wide open, in the best of ways. A new fire ignites, as your true self and purpose in this lifetime emerge. Suddenly you have a desire to do all the things. Change all the lives. Make a difference. Leave a legacy. And yet, there are three little people that you’re obsessively attached to. You’re torn between leaving their side to do all the things, and holding them every second to not miss a moment. I created a digital space in my business where I get to do the things that I’m meant to do... AND love on these little people as much as I can while they’re still this little. I get to prepare pregnant women for birth (shout-out to my online courses for FTMs and VBAC moms -- links in bio). . AND I get to teach Doulas how to establish their online presence (same mission - extended reach). I got emotional on a call with a doula today during her virtual business consult. It was our first time talking, outside of exchanges in my Doulas Going Digital private FB group. I showed up ready to *serve*... and I did. We talked strategy for bringing parts of her business online and she has a gameplan. She is going to make serious impact, y'all. What I didn’t expect was for her to fill my cup right back. She brought me to happy tears. I used to worry what other birth doulas would think about a Digital Doula. Something happened along the way and I decided that my mission was more important than that 👆. We have a lot of work to do to change the conversation about birth & new motherhood. My C-section was planned and I made that decision from a place of fear. That is hard for me to admit, given that I’m in the birth worker community. And I know not every Cesarean decision is the same. . The truth is, I didn’t feel safe… in my relationship. . The rest is even more difficult to admit… but I need to get this off my chest. Please be kind. In opening up about my truth, I hope that one of you reading this feels less alone. . What if my boyfriend (we weren’t married yet at the time) sees my vagina being potentially ruined during birth? . What if he doesn’t love me anymore? . You see, I was valuing myself for the wrong reasons back then. . So when my OB (at the time) told me that I needed a C-section due to my baby’s estimated size (Which is BS btw), I felt some kind of relief. . A few years later, I was planning my first VBAC. Motherhood changed me… it has a way of doing that, right? . I began to grow and heal. I was no longer afraid of those lies that I used to tell myself. . At about 10 weeks pregnant with baby # 2, I decided to commit to a VBAC journey. . I created my ‘safe’ environment for that birth. It took months of preparation, processing and healing. .
